| RANDOM THOUGHTS!!!! |
[May. 30th, 2006|11:24 pm] |
-I really, really, REALLY need to get my guitar fixed. For real. -All in all, I really enjoyed X3. Yes, there were some moments of wasted potential, but what I liked outweighed what I didn't. Plus, it's about damn time Magneto really let loose. Hopefully there will be a fourth one...shit, I'll direct it. Jason's score: *** out of **** -I have come to realize that unless I am on the water, in a pool, walking to my car, cutting my grass, or out for a walk, I have no reason to be outside. It's just too damn hot. -It has been announced that Avenged Sevenfold is the secret band at Ozzfest this year. I haven't heard any of their music save for "Bat Country", but that's exciting because I will hear their material with fresh ears. Plus, System of a Down is playing and I really want to see them bad. -Resident Evil 4=TOTAL OWNAGE. -I got my first haircut in months today, finally giving in. It seems that everytime I say I'll grow it out (in the summer being the retard that I am), I get it cut two days after I say it. I think it looks alright I guess, but oh well. -For some reason, I've been craving a trip to Windsor for an overnight experience. It's been 2 years.... -If you haven't heard the song "Reborn" by Stone Sour, you're really missing out. -Wah-Wah -You know what's nice? Saving money. Instead of going out to buy movies like mad, I actually watch the ones I have. I have probably around 300 to choose from. Yup, I suck that much. -Pistons are done. Let's face it. -Yup, that's it. |

| Walking season... |
[May. 17th, 2006|11:26 pm] |
Ok, here's the deal. It is summer time, yes it is still shitty outside, the weather will get better, and when the weather gets better I want to start up walking and/or running. Since Kryssy (my oringial walking buddy) isn't going to be around basically all summer, I am in need for a new walking buddy. I usually prefer to walk in the evening/night because it is cooler outside, but whenever will work as well. Here are the perks: -Exercise, and after this past school year I could spare some pounds. -Being outside is always nice. -Fellowship: it's always nice to talk to someone. Especially about music, movies, and basically life. -Me: I think I'm a pretty decent person, so why not.
If you're interested let me know. You must be reliable, as in you are willing to go on walks whenever. I really like to walk, so I'm up for it whenever. Since I've been home I've pretty much sat around unless I'm working. Other than that I'm lazy and could use the exercise. Plus it would be nice to chill out. -Jason- |

So for the third day in a row it's raining and apparently it's supposed to be raining for the next week. Whooooo!!! I love rain, but damnit it's summer time now, I wanna go swimming. This summer is going to be nothing special other than the fact that I have to save major bucks this time around. Here's what I've got going on so far:
-Tin Fish on Wednesday nights. I went this past wednesday even though it was raining, but everyone was inside. Not a big turn out, but they're not really promoting Tiki Night very much yet. It will pick up though. Who wants to go?
-Ozzfest 2006. I believe this is on July 17th but I need to double check. After 5 years I finally get to see System of a Down, plus it's Ozzfest so I'll be in my heavy metal element.
-My first cavity filling. That's right, after 22 years I finally got my first cavity. The end of June is when this is going down.
-4th of July. Not that I'll be around to celebrate it with my friends for the third year in a row, I'll be at a wedding that I don't even want to go to. My cousin, who is 19, is deciding that she doesn't want to live out her youth and jump to the punch that is marriage. Folks, marriage is the very last thing on my mind these days, but I guess if that's what she wants to do, then go for it.
-Family Values. This tour doesn't start up until late July which makes me nervous to see if they're gonna be around before I go off to school again. Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Fly Leaf, and a second stage yet to be announced will be in attendance. Plus, lawn tickets are going for the very consumer-friendly price of $10. Who wants to go?
-Grand Rapids. I'll be going there once a month, starting two weeks from now to fight my first speeding ticket. But after that I'll just be visiting friends, and also Gina's 21st birthday at the end of July. If anyone wants to go, let me know. I could use some company on the way there.
-The Summer Movie Extravaganza. This summer's movie line-up isn't as promising as the past few years, but gems like Poseidon, The Da Vinci Code, X3, Superman Returns, and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 are the major players. Let's go.
-The new Stone Sour album. I believe it comes out August 11th, but I'm really excited. Singer/songwriter Corey Taylor and Guitarist Jim Root, both of Slipknot, put this, their original band, to the side when Slipknot started. It's more rock oriented, but awesome nonetheless.
As far as I know that is about all that is going down. I've been trying to get a hold of a few people, but failure is becoming a common trend, which really upsets me. Hopefully soon, I'll catch up with them.... |

| I NEED EVERYONE'S HELP!!!! |
[Apr. 5th, 2006|01:54 pm] |
First and foremost, this is completely legit. This is not one of those "if you don't reply, Satan himself will come to your home and kill you or if you respond within 7 minutes a pornstar will do you tonight" surveys. I'm doing an autobiographical self-portrait for my life drawing class and I need some help. If you could answer one, or all of the following, I will dance at your wedding:
1) Describe me in one word.
2) Recall a memory, good or bad involving me. It doesn't matter which one, just as long as it's legit.
3) What is my best quality.
All responses will be included in my drawing and I'm already making playlists for the weddings. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Random Thoughts:
-Last night of Spring Break. A few highlights, if you will: -Worked. Last night I accidentally started "Failure to Launch" 15 minutes late. Way to go Jason. Then the sound fucked up. Way to go Jason. Then 65 refunds had to be given. I'm on a roll. Way to make a last impression right before you leave. -Hung out with friends. Alot. Hung out with Jason, CJ, Dave, and Karl more than anyone else. The earliest I've been to bed all week has been 3. -The Empire Buffet Battle Royale II. I lost. 9 plates later. Clore won. He got a real sweet trophy that I bought at the dollar store. Pettit threw up and farted and wouldn't let Josh out of the booth. Poor Josh. Stomachache followed. -Capri. Typical stuff there. 3 Budweisers, 4 vodka and tonics, and a shot of Jager later, I was good to go. -Scott Stapp at Clutch Cargos. Actually I didn't go, but as Pettit, Ferraro, and Clore and they'll tell you how it was. -I just watched the last new Star Wars movie ever. FUCK. -Back to Grand Rapids tomorrow. -Back to Fair Haven in 2 weeks. -My Birthday is in 2 weeks. I'll be 22 years old. I'm already becoming depressed. Who wants a beer or 8 with me? -Hopefully when I come back I can see some people I haven't seen in a long time. And I mean, a loooong time. -A new Legend of Zelda is coming out for the 'Cube next month. There goes 4 months of my life. -Ozzfest this year is gonna be bad ass. Hopefully going will follow through. -I got into another scuffle about Nickelback again last night. Apparently the lyrics, or madlibs if you will, are so full of "meaning". I started laughing so hard that I began to cry. Oh man Chad, you're a killer with a pen. -And I'm bored. |

Does the song "Photograph" by Nickelback piss off anyone as much as it does me? This is by far one of the worst songs in history. I heard someone say that they don't like Green Day or System of a Down anymore because they are too political. Political, yes, but they sing more about life, which politics is part of, especially more than ever. I'd rather see a band write a song about the state of the world than whatever is on Joey's head. Chad Kruger, Kroger, Krueger, whatever needs to put down the guitar and go work at American Eagle. The video for "Photograph" is basically a 3 minute commercial for the store. I knew Nickelback would get worse since they obtained the drummer from 3 Doors Down (another "dude rock" band that also writes horrid songs that you know are played at high school proms now), but I didn't know it would be this bad. When I was at school, I would watch VH-1 and MTV while eating breakfast and I would see the video for the damned song everyday, sometimes on both stations...AT THE SAME TIME!!! What is this world coming to? I know I don't have much room to talk because I listen to 9 guys who hit kegs and wear halloween masks, but come on, anyone who buys into the "Photograph is about life man! He sees a picture and it brings back memories" is full of their own shit. Chad either had a book of mad libs or went to Hallmark and looked through greeting cards while the rest of the band was at home watching "Taradise" on E! It seems like so few bands really take the time to craft quality songs. If you ask me, Green Day totally reinvented themselves, became more popular than ever and is the biggest band around today. They are simply everywhere. System of a Down, yes took quite some time off, but time can ensure quality and it shows in "Hypnotize" and "Mezmorize". The Foo Fighters, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, and Weezer are just some examples of bands that don't buy into the shit that is coming out today. They stick to their guns and don't have the mentality "cheese is good". Nickelback is all cheese. |

Wow, I guess just like everyone else, I'll do my first post in a while. What the hell, let's go nuts.
-Well, my first official semester at Kendall is over and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. I really built on my skills as an artist, met a few new people whom I like alot, and finally got to go out on my own. Sure it was extremely lonely at times, but the good outweighs the bad by far. A few highlights include: -Dan's Halloween/birthday party with yours truly dressed as Micheal Jackson. -Halloween night. I won't go into details, but I hate the supernatural. -Meeting a bunch of really cool new people who accepted me (more or less) for my dorkiness, rugged good looks, and boyish charm. To those I am referring to, I bed you many thanks. -Photography on Fridays. I kid you not I don't think I had this much fun in a class since 5th grade. The ENTIRE class got along and the teacher was incredible cool. Not to mention she enjoys Pabst Blue Ribbon.
-As of 2:30 today I am home until around January 7th-ish.
-I go back to work on Sunday. Should be interesting. I need money, so what the hell.
-I am going on yet ANOTHER ski trip this year from Dec. 27-Jan. 1st. Should be a good time even though my wallet will be hurting.
-I really want to see King Kong. Bad.
-I only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep last night. I'm tired. Good-bye and good night. |
